GPA is the single biggest factor in college admissions.
Colleges evaluate the rigor of a student's coursework alongside their grades, and at many selective schools that factor is rated Very Important, on par with GPA and test scores. What most families do not realize is that access to rigorous coursework is often determined earlier than junior year. At schools with firm grade thresholds for AP eligibility, a sophomore earning a 90 in Honors English may be locked out of AP Language the following year. A student who misses the cutoff for Pre-Calculus Honors may find the path to AP Calculus closed before it ever opened.
Academic momentum compounds in both directions. The right support in freshman and sophomore year is not remediation. It is protecting the options your student has not had a chance to earn yet.
Real support across the full academic spectrum
Academic support at Wagner Prep is not just for students who are struggling. We work with students across the full range, from a freshman trying to build solid study habits to a junior pushing a 91 to a 95 to qualify for AP English next year. Every student is matched with a tutor who knows the subject and knows how to teach it. Sessions are virtual, flexible, and built around how your student actually learns.

A relationship that grows with your student
A lot of our families start here. Subject tutoring is often the first step, and from there many students move into SAT/ACT prep or college advising as the time comes. We're happy to be whatever your family needs right now, and we'll still be here for what comes next.
